A Chocolate Mess

I've been off for a couple of days and thought I would start my stretch off doing something fun with Eli.  We don't bake a lot but he LOVES to eat sweets!  Maybe that's why I try to not have them in the house?  That's all he would want to eat!  When we were grocery shopping I was buying a cookie mix but he insisted we buy the brownie mix!  So brownies it was.

He loved getting to stir!

Don't worry, no one else was eating these other than us!
And I stopped him before he got it in his mouth ;)

He loved licking the bowl.
But then again who doesn't?!
I know I do!

Sweet boy!

"Hey I got chocolate on my arm!"

"Guess I better lick it off!"

Who needs a spoon?

Yummy chocolate!

"I think I like this baking stuff!"

Eli's 1st Soccer Game

I couldn't wait any longer to blog about Eli's first soccer game!  This was super exciting for us so I will get to the other stuff later :)

Eli missed the first game because we were on our way to Destin.  The next game was rained out!  So this was his actual first game.  I've been so excited about him playing soccer!  We can't wait to get him involved in sports and this was our first oppurtunity.  Soccer probably wouldn't have been our first choice of sports but it's hard to avoid it in Northwest AR!  It's everywhere!  Chad and I know nothing about soccer so we have a lot to learn!  Eli is on a team of 7 kids total and we are friends with 3 of them!  Their team is the Silver Fox Pups!  The team is for kids ages 2.5 - 3 years old.  I wasn't sure how they would teach 2 1/2 year olds how to play soccer but the coach is really sweet and amazingly good with the kids.

At first Eli just wanted to kick the ball into the goal like the other kids and play with his friends!

We will have a time teaching him he can't touch the ball with his hands!

Best friends, Eli and Alexi (the girl he goes to the babysitter with)

The Silver Fox Pups.  These are the only kids who showed up for the game.

Team huddle.
I couldn't believe he actually sat there.
Well, he sat there for a little while, not the whole time.  But I was still impressed ;)

He couldn't pass up blowing the dandilions!

Hopping down the field.  They had them hop from one end of the field to the next.  It made me tired just watching!  Then they asked the parents to come "hop like a bunny".  I passed.

This is what Eli did the majority of the time... roll on the ground.

Team huddle again!

Balancing his foot on the ball.  Then he tries to stand on it and learns it's not so easy!  If only I had video of that part!  It was pretty funny!

Gooooo Silver Fox Pups!

Eli got so excited he turned around and fell on the ground after the huddle!

Running hard!  If only the game/practice was before naptime!

Eli's games are on Sunday afternoon every week for 8 weeks.
We can't wait for the next game!

Catching Up

I'm trying to play catch up with this blog.  I'm really behind!  The last 3 weeks have FLOWN past.  We've been on two trips and Eli started Mother's Day Out!  Last year Eli went to MDO once a week.  This year we decided to stick with the once a week.  It works well for us.  We call it "school".  Eli calls it "church", because it's at the church we attend!  He seems to enjoy it and I enjoy having some free time once a week!

He hadn't seen his teachers since the last day in May.  They couldn't get over how big he had gotten over the summer.  I sure think he has grown and is starting to look like such a big boy!

Can you tell he was excited?!

Sporting his matching lunchbox and backpack!

Nothing special about this picture.  It's just a random picture I thought I would share.  This was the morning we were leaving to go on vacation.  He was super excited!

Next up.... our trip to Wisconsin.  PJ20!!!
Stay tuned!

Destin Day 5 Continued

Here are the rest of the pictures from Day 5 (Thursday) as I promised the other day.  I had a hard time narrowing them down so I posted quite a few.  I only took over 150 pictures with my DSLR camera in the 2 hours we were at the beach on Thursday!  Eli was in a great mood that morning and posing like a little model for the camera (very rare these days).  I took advantage and took as many pictures as I could before my battery went dead.  I have some cute videos too I will work on posting later.
