End of Summer

I can't believe summer is over.  School is starting and the weather is starting to finally cool off some.  I'm so ready for football season!  Football means fall and fall means cooler temps and beautiful trees!  We have a couple of trips coming up in the next few weeks and I'm getting kind of anxious about them!  I will be so busy trying to plan the trips, working and packing.  Bring on the "to do" lists and "what to take" lists!  I'm definitely a "list" girl!

Okay, enough rambling.  Here are a few pictures of Eli recently.
This first picture is pretty much the response I get these days when I ask him to smile for the camera.

He hides.
Hence the picture of Bob.

Then sometimes I get to snap a picture of that cute face :)

Last week Eli and I started talking about birthdays.  I told him how you get presents and cake on your birthday.  He was so excited!  Too bad his birthday is not for a few more months.  So I thought he needed a little treat.

We headed to Rick's Bakery after he woke up from his nap.  I needed a little sweet treat myself!  He was just like a kid in a candy store!  Everyone was laughing at him!  He was so excited!!!  He picked out this cookie with M&Ms.

Then I thought he needed a "cake" since we had just talked about birthday cakes.  He calls the petit fors "baby cakes".  He loved them all!

There's nothing better than seeing this sweet smiling face!

A perfect way to end summer in my book!

Denver

Last week I flew to Denver to see my best friend, Connie.  She just had baby #2 on July 18th, a sweet baby girl named Kathryn.  After she moved to Denver (8 years ago) I tried to make it out there once a year.  I did really good until I got pregnant and had Eli!  Ha!  Life just changes when you have kids I guess.  Well, I knew she wouldn't be making it home to Arkansas anytime soon after having a baby, so I decided to make a trip out to see her and meet baby Kathryn!  It was a trip long overdue!  Chad was so generous to let me go by myself while he stayed home with Eli!  I'm not sure I could have handled Eli that long by myself!  Ha!

Everytime Connie and I are together it's just like it was in high school and college.  We pick up right where we left off!  I just wish she lived closer!  We had the best time just hanging around the house, talking and catching up.

Kathryn is such a sweet baby and so snuggly!  I had a great time helping out with her!  She was such a good little model too!  I loved playing with my camera and taking some pictures of her!  It definitely makes me want to learn more about my camera!

Such a sweet and gorgeous girl!

How can someone look this good only 2 weeks after having a baby?  Not fair!

Our future little Chi Omega!

And I can't forget this sweet boy, Grayson.  He's 20 months old!  He's such a talker and very smart!  I loved spending time and playing with him as well!

Can you believe the entire 4 days I was there we didn't get a single picture together?  Back in the day we would have been taking tons of pictures of ourselves by holding the camera out as far as we could reach.  Times definitely change when you have kids!
