A weekend of Razorback Festivities

Loud music and crazy Razorback fans yelling made Eli a little unsure of where we were...

But we couldn't miss the pep rally at the Chi Omega Greek Theater!

He warmed up pretty quickly!

He was clapping and having a good time before we left!

Tailgating before the big game

Eli had a great time playing with all his friends!

He played so hard he passed out in Mimi's arms!  He actually took a pretty good nap!

He tried and tried to climb the tree with the other boys!
Maybe next year...

We had a great time rooting for our Hogs even though they lost.  We are already looking forward to the next game!

Costume Preview

I finally got Eli's costume in the mail the other day and immediately had to try it on him!  This is it sans boots.
It's a little big and the hat is a little small.  I may try to send the hat back and get the next size up.  The rest of the costume will fit perfect with a little "tweaking"!

No, the golf club bag is not a prop.  He wouldn't put it down for the picture.

You must admit, he's one handsome cowboy!!!

Giddy up!

I'm super excited about Halloween this year.  So much so that I've already bought Eli's Halloween costume!  If you know me, then you know I'm not much on western wear but I found this costume and immediately knew that was is it!

He's gonna be a cowboy this year!
No, this is not his entire costume.  I haven't gotten it in yet.
But I found these cute cowboy rain boots at Sports Academy and got them to go with the costume.

He insisted on putting them on this morning!  But he couldn't walk very well in them.
Guess he better practice if he wants to go trick-or-treating!

I think he will make one cute cowboy!

On the Road Again

Did you know that McDonald's playground was the best invention for small children?  Well it is!  Especially when they are stuck in a car for a 9 hours!  Both on the way down and back we stopped at McD's for an hour for Eli to run off some energy.  He had a great time!

And then he managed to climb all the way up the curly slide to the very top.
A place where only small children can get to.

He thought it was fun!
Until he was stuck and couldn't get down!

Dad to rescue!

This is how his lip looked a couple of days after the fall at the pool.
Not too bad.
It's almost gone now.

Fruit snacks make a boy happy!
And so does being HOME!

We had a great time on vacation!
We're already talking about going back next year!
But we sure are glad to be home!

MISSING!

MISSING:  Hot Wheels Camo Truck
Last seen at beach during pictures.
Looks just like the one seen in this picture.

If found please return to Eli Evans.  It was his favorite truck!
And we can't find it at Wal-Mart again...

Mostly pictures

I will make this post short and sweet with mostly pictures.
That's all you really care about anyway, isn't it?

The view from our balcony

His first words every morning after waking up would be "bye bye?".
He constantly wanted to go "BYE BYE!"

Checking out the water

Checking out the water.  He wasn't so sure of it...

He was fine as long as he was being held.

He LOVED the pool!  We spent most of our time here.

Braving the deeper water

I think he may be part fish...

He was jumping off the ledge into the ankle deep water and had to clap and say "yea" everytime!

This is why we don't run at the swimming pool.
We can fall and bust our lips!
We're just glad no teeth were harmed!

We had to chase him everytime to put on sunscreen.
Look at the tan line on his legs!

More Florida 2

This morning we spent time at the pool.
It was great!
The weather was perfect (as it was the entire trip).
Eli was in a good mood.

Until he was told he couldn't go into the fountain.
Guess he needs to learn to read!

He finally calmed down with some cookies and juice!
And a little babe-watching!

So after his nap we decided to spend our last day at the beach (finally).  The algae/seaweed (whatever it was) had finally cleared and the beach was much cleaner.  We packed up everything and went on our way.  Eli hasn't really been a fan of the beach since we got here.  He doesn't really like the sand, especially when it gets on his hands.  And he doesn't want to go near the water.  We've pretty much stayed at the pool everyday.
Well, today was no different.  He cried pretty much the entire 45 minutes we were there.  In his defense, I don't think he felt good.  We packed up and came back in.

P.S.  I haven't even uploaded my pictures from the other camera.
I will post some of them after we get home.

Don't you wish you were here?

We picked the best night to take beach pictures!
The sunset was gorgeous!

Here are a few pictures from our "picture session".

This about the only time Eli was actually smiling while standing in the sand or anywhere near the ocean.
He wasn't a fan.
Plain and simple.

There's always next year...

I will just pretend he liked it when I look at this picture!

More Florida...

Here are some pictures from dinner tonight.
Eli was great and ate like a 10 year old!
We are all in awe in the amount of food he put away.

Keep eating, Eli!
You have some growing to do!

I will have pictures from the beach later.
They are on the other camera and I don't feel like uploading them at the moment.
I just wanna go to bed!

The water seems to be a little better today though.
We're keeping our fingers crossed for the next two days!

Florida Fun

Yes, we are on vacation in beautiful, oil-free (but not seaweed-free) Destin, Florida!
Eli was perfect for the ride down so I'm convinced he will be opposite for the ride home.

We stopped in Mobile, AL and let him play on the McD's playground for an hour.
Best.Decision.Ever.
He got to run out some energy and we got to stretch.
He fell asleep 10 minutes after getting back in the car and slept the rest of the way!

Can you believe I totally forgot my camera for Eli's first reaction to the beach today?
Well, it was really his second time to the beach but 6 months old doesn't count does it?
We will go back and I promise not to forget my camera!
The water has some nasty seaweed and the sand (close to the water, not all of it) is blanketed in the nasty stuff.  And it smells!  We wouldn't get in the water more than foot deep.  We are hoping it goes away in the next day or two.
Here is a picture of the sweet little man at dinner tonight.
He was intrigued by the birds (seagulls) and kept saying "quack, quack" to them.
He really thought they were talking to him!

We are having fun so far!  Look for more pictures soon!

New Playhouse!

Well, not really...
Eli enjoyed playing in Jigs' new pet carrier today.
I really think he believes it's his new toy!

First day of school

Today was Eli's first day of "school" (also known as Mother's Day Out).  He walked in the door, saw all the toys and other kids and never looked back!  He was in heaven!  I was worried about the whole lunch and nap thing but he did great!  He ate most of his lunch and took a 1 & 1/2 hour nap!  We couldn't believe he actually laid down on the mat and SLEPT!

The teacher called Eli a "cuddle bunny"!  I loved that because it's so true!  He loves to cuddle with anyone!  He's such a sweet boy!

He's growing up WAY TOO FAST!   :(

And it's hard to tell in this picture but most of his curls are gone :(  He got a much needed hair cut yesterday.  She didn't purposely cut the curls (she's always wanting me to let his hair grow long).  His hair was actually starting to straighten before the hair cut.  He looks like such a little boy now!  He still has some wave to his hair but I miss his sweet curls!

Woo Pig Sooie!

Last weekend was the opening Razorback football game (for those of you who aren't familiar or don't follow
the Hogs like we Arkansans do).
Anyway, tailgating is a big part of our fall football season.
It's something we Hog fans love to do!
What's more fun than eating, hanging out with family and friends, and rooting for the Hogs to win the game?

NOTHING!!!!

Eli is already practicing football for the future!
I think he looks good in that Razorback jersey!  A quarterback maybe?

He ran the ENTIRE time we were tailgating!  Chad and I had to take shifts chasing him.
He finally wore himself out and came and sat in my lap.  He's definitely 100% little boy!

Eli and I came home while everyone else went to the game.
But that didn't stop us for cheering for our favorite team!
We even rooted for the Hogs during bath time!
