Evans Destin Trip... Post 4

I'm finally posting the rest of our Destin pictures. Sorry it's taken me so long.
Here ya go!

No matter how much these boys argue over toys and who can do something better, faster or first, at the end of the day they love each other. They are going to grow up as best friends even though they live 1000+ miles apart. I loved this sweet moment!

I hadn't mentioned yet that Chad's parents drove down on Wednesday to spend some time with all of us. The kids were so excited to see Mimi and Papaw.  I wish I was better at remembering to take pictures. I didn't get a single picture of the kids with their grandparents. I did manage to get this one of Papaw helping the kiddos dig a huge hole at the beach!

I think Eli could dig in the sand and play with his dump trucks ALL DAY LONG.

This is the final hole.  It was huge!  Papaw and Eli built a levee between the hole and ocean so water wouldn't get in the hole.

Goodbye beach!  See you again in September!

Later that night we enjoyed dinner at McGuire's Irish Pub, our favorite restaurant in Destin.  We always save it for the last night!

The next morning we hit the road.  We had been dreading this 14 hour drive all week.  We always break up our trip down into two days.  We had a couple of things we needed to be home for on Saturday so we decided to make the entire drive back in one day.

We have been blessed with an easy traveler!  Eli has always traveled really well.  He watched many movies, played games on the iPad and slept.  We only stopped 3 times I believe.  I think our key to an easy trip is stopping at a playground at some point (like McD's or Chick-Fil-A) to let him run off some energy.

Yes!  We've made it back to Arkansas!  Unfortunately, we still had 5 hours at this point.

It's always nice to go on vacation but just as nice to be back home and in our routine.

Evans Destin Trip... Post 3

More pics from our Destin vacay...

We went to eat sushi one night. Eli had never used chopsticks but seemed to be a pro at it! With the child chopsticks anyway! He hate his entire dinner with those chopsticks! He discovered he LOVES white sticky rice and ketchup. Makes me shudder just thinking about it! Yuck! But whatever gets him to eat his dinner I'm all for.

Eli and I took pictures of our funny faces while he was laying down for bedtime. I love this little boy so much. Have I ever told you all that?

The men went on a fishing trip. And a successful fishing trip at that!  Look at all of those fish they caught! They said they even had to throw back tons of fish because they had already caught their limit. We cooked 3 different kinds of fish for dinner that night... Spanish mackerel, speckled trout, and redfish. It was delicious!

Their guide was a great guy too. He grabbed a couple of fishing poles so the kids could fish off the dock while he was cleaning the fish.

I loved this, Eli and Lily holding hands on the pier. Eli loves his cousins!

Eli and Chad even caught a little fish!

After dinner that evening we went to the beach to walk around and let the kids run. Lily loves the camera!

More Eli and Lily love :)

One of the few pictures I have of all the kids looking at the camera.

The iPads came in handy for down time for the kids. They love to watch movies and play games on them.

More pictures coming soon!

Evans Destin Trip... Post 2

Our first full day there it rained.

All. Day. Long.

We found a visitor in the pool in the morning. The kids went on a rescue mission to set the crab free.

The kids were able to get in some swimming before the rain started.
The girls did some shopping while the men stayed at the house drinking beer and watching the Masters. The kids played their hearts out.

The next day we had fun playing in the pool and at the beach. The weather was great!
Now this is vacation!

Evans Destin Trip... Post 1

Last Friday we left home heading to Destin, Florida for a vacation with Chad's brother and his family. We had been counting down the days until we left! Now we are on way home from Destin as I type this post. We are all sad but looking forward to sleeping in our own beds and getting back to our routine.

I had planned to blog while we were actually in Destin but there was a storm that knocked out our Wifi. Which means my pictures weren't in my photo stream on my iPad. I figured I would just do it while we riding for 14 hours on our way home. So here I am...

Even the dogs were going on vacation to a dog boarding facility close to my mom. Poor things had no clue what they were in for.
Eli was so excited about going to the beach with his cousins that he did NOT want to go to sleep.
We left Forrest City early Saturday and headed to Destin. Eli had been awake since 4:00am asking if it was time to leave for the beach! I think he asked no less than 200 times if we were close to the beach on the way.
Eli was a little delirious as we got close to Destin.
We finally made it! I just love this view!

More to come...

A Visit to the Dentist

Eli's 6 month dental cleaning was this week. He did great! He was even excited about going! He's come a long way since his first visit to the dentist. Let's hope it is always this easy.

We're proud to announce he is cavity free!

We ended the day with an ice cream cone!
