Trick-or-Treat!

Halloween has finally arrived!  And with that comes trick-or-treating!.  I wasn't sure Eli would catch on to everything but he did and I think he had a great time!  At first he tried to give his candy out of his bag to the people at the door but then caught on.  What can I say?  I guess he likes to share!

We went to the Promenade in Rogers to trick-or-treat but didn't stay too long.  There were WAY too many people and long lines.

I have to admit, he makes one CUTE cowboy!

We met up with Eli's friend, Alexi, who goes to the babysitter with him.  They were so excited to see each other!

Is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen!  They are holding hands!!!  Okay more like she was holding his wrist.  He didn't want to hold her hand at first but finally gave in.

This is a picture of Eli trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.  He had such a good time.  I can't wait for Halloween next year!  Maybe he will actually be able to say "trick-or-treat"!

Sunday Mornings

We love Sunday mornings in our house.  Well maybe I should rephrase that.  We love Sunday mornings when I don't have to work!  This morning we drank coffee, Eli played, we read the paper, and Eli watched cartoons.  It was perfect!  I wish every morning could be like this!

No, a tornado did not come through our house.
It was just Eli!

Chad showing his artistic skills.  Looks pretty good, huh?!

Eli in his wacky pack crazy glasses.

And tonight there will be trick-or-treating and handing out candy to the thousands of trick-or-treaters that knock at our door!  Followed up by eating Eli's candy after he goes to bed!  He won't miss it.  Giddy up, cowboy!

First Razorback Football Game

Tonight Eli attended his first Razorback football game.
He loved it and enjoyed watching everything!

Until the fireworks went off!  Then he squinted his eyes shut and wouldn't move from this position until we left!  I guess I could say he's terrified of fireworks!

But we did manage to get a family shot before we left the game!
What perfect weather for a football game tonight!

Happy Halloween!

Last night we went to a Halloween party with friends from my work.
Eli FINALLY got to wear his cowboy costume!

Even cowboys have to ride in carseats!

One of the few pictures with his hat on.  He took it off immediately.

Giddy up!

Eli and Alexi checking out each other's costumes.
They go to the babysitter together and are BEST friends!
Eli only wanted to play with the vacuum.  If he walked away Alexi would bring it to him.  She's such a little momma!  It's pretty cute to watch them play!

I will have more pictures from trick or treating tomorrow!

Time for a Nap

I think Eli was trying to tell me it was time for a nap today at lunch.
Poor kid fell asleep sitting in his high chair!
And wouldn't you know after I got him out and laid him in bed he rolled around for about 20 minutes before he fell asleep!

Jump on the wagon

Or just jump in it!
This was Eli's ride to bed the other night.
He thought it was fun and we thought it was cute!

Sorry I've been so bad lately at blogging.
I had a crazy work schedule the last week and this week has been busy.
But I'm back now!

Octoberfest Fun

Today Dickson St was having Octoberfest.  We went to check it out and ended up having a pretty good time.  There were lots of animals to pet and feed, pig races, bouncy houses, pony/camel rides and more.  Eli was a little scared of the animals at first but finally warmed up to them towards the end.  Here are a few pictures of the fun!

Brushing a calf.  I couldn't believe he actually did it!

Waiting for the pigs to race.

Definitely the BEST part!  In the past he's been afraid of bouncy houses.  Maybe the other kids helped him realize how fun they are?  He had a good time running and jumping!

We had a good day but it's back to work for me tomorrow.  Eli and Chad will be enjoying a "father/son day".

New Haircut

I wanted to post a couple of pictures before I went to bed to show off Eli's new haircut.  He got a lot chopped off yesterday and now he looks like such a big boy!

We found a new playground today and Eli LOVED it!  It's a toddler-sized playground so he can actually climb up and slide down the slides without help!  I think I loved it as much as he did!  We will definitely be returning!

Does anyone have a gun I can borrow?  Don't worry, it's for the refrigerator.  Yes, that's right.  IT'S A PIECE OF CRAP!!!  The fan went out meaning it's not too much longer before the whole thing goes out if we didn't unplug it until the fan can be replaced.  Of course the fan has to be ordered and it will take a "few days" until it's in.  My chore today?  Moving all of the food from the fridge in the house to the fridge in the garage.  Thank God for the garage fridge!  It was free and works better than the one we paid money for!  I didn't realize what a luxury it is to have a working refrigerator in the kitchen.  And having one that produces ice!  I can't tell you how many times I've opened the broken refrigerator to get something out since moving everything out of it!

Anyone want to buy a refrigerator?

There's a Party in my Tummy!

SO YUMMY, SO YUMMY!
(for those Yo Gabba Gabba fans out there)

Today I made White Chili for the first time!
I had to share it with you because it's so yummy!

Chad's bowl is the blue bowl and mine is the red bowl.  I forgot to take a picture of mine before I stirred up the chips and cheese!  Oh so yummy!

I had heard of white chili before but had not tried it until this summer.  I've had the recipe since receiving it at my recipe shower when Chad and I were getting married (2003) but just never got around to making it.  I changed the recipe a little to be more like my sister's recipe.  I can see this becoming one of our favorite meals this winter!  I will give you the recipe if you're interested!  Just ask!

Happy Fall, Y'all

Today we made a trip to the same pumpkin patch we visited last year.
They have the best set up for pictures!
Eli wasn't so sure about sitting in the hay or the crow "crowing" in the tree but he loved everything else!

I'm learning how much harder it is to take pictures of him.  He was so fast I couldn't even get my camera to focus on him instead of the bush!  And it would have made such a pretty background!

It's kinda hard to tell in the picture below, but on the left is a setup of sound-activated things (snakes, rats, etc.).  He LOVED this!  He thought it was hilarious!

We plan to visit another local pumpkin patch in the next week or so to actually "pick" pumpkins.  I'm sure there will be more pumpkin pictures to come!

Best Buds!

Eli has a new best bud!
Jigs was allowed to come in and play for a short time this weekend and Eli loved it!  We were a little cautious because Jigs and Eli don't play together a whole lot.  Eli is usually a little afraid of him because he's so hyper.  Jigs was really good with Eli, allowing him to hug on him and lay all over him!
It was pretty cute!

There will probably be more playdates between them to come soon!

Finally Friday!

It's finally Friday!
Too bad Chad and I are both feeling pukey.  Chad felt bad yesterday (although he was never actually sick) and today I'm sick (but I, on the other hand, have been sick).  I guess it's taken this long for Eli's stomach virus to pass to us.  I hate feeling nauseous more than anything so I'm ready for it pass!

Yesterday Eli went to Mother's Day Out (we call it "school" for short).  The first day was the only day there were no tears (I guess he had no clue where he was going).  Every since then he cries as we walk in the door to the church!  Except yesterday...  he cried as we pulled up and he SAW the doors!  I got him to stop crying as I got him out of the car.  He smiled the whole way in until I handed him off to his teacher.  I thought this was a big step and I think it's getting better.  He stops crying almost as soon as I walk out of the door (I know this because I wait to peak through the door!) so I know he has a good time.  They always give good reports on him when I pick him up and his teachers seem to really love him!

Yesterday he was rewarded with a treat! I participate in Sonic happy hour quite often but poor Eli is never allowed. Until yesterday!

He was very excited about his grape slush!

Feeling better!

I think Eli's stomach bug is mostly gone now and his appetite is coming back!
This morning he asked for a banana...
then pancakes...
then an apple!
We stopped after pancakes.
He loves to eat apples but I think he mostly wanted to play it at this point!

Here are a couple of pictures of his cute Halloween PJs.
I LOVE Halloween pajamas!

And he looks extra cute in them if you ask me!

We've been bitten...

...By the stomach bug.  Well Eli has anyway.  It all started on Friday afternoon when he started throwing up.  Then again.  And again.  And again.  And then came the nasty diapers.  I will spare you the details.  I'm sure you can use your imagination here.  Chad and I were up with him most of the night on Friday until I had to take Chad to the airport at 4:30am.  Chad was heading to Connecticut for the weekend (lucky guy) and I was supposed to be working all weekend.  Luckily Mimi was here to save the day.  She stayed with us until today.  Eli seems to be better (no throwing up, just the nasty diapers I mentioned previously) and his appetite is coming back slowly.  Hopefully the bug is on his way out the door and no one else gets it!

Sorry for the lack of pictures.  I didn't think this was something you wanted to see  :)
