More KC Pictures

I forgot about the pictures on my other camera the other night when I was uploading all of our pictures from KC.  There are some cute ones of Eli so I thought I would share them.

We stopped for lunch at Chick Fil-A and let Eli play on the playground.  I've just recently discovered how kid-friendly Chick Fil A is, especially when eating inside!  They give you a placemat and hand santizing wipes for the kids!  And they will tell you to find a table and carry your food out for you!  It's great!  Why didn't I know this before now?

And why didn't someone tell me a long time ago that they will give you a free ice cream instead of the toy in the kids meal?  I always throw the stupid toys away!  I.... I mean Eli, could have been eating free ice cream all this time!  And speaking of ice cream and Eli, I think we've created an ice cream monster!  He LOVES ice cream!  He's learning how to lick it off the cone now!

Ice cream mustache!

Messy ice cream boy!

KC has a Cabela's and Chad's always wanted to go to Cabela's.  So he finally went!
I have to admit, it was pretty neat!

There was a really neat mule deer "exhibit" set up.  Chad and Eli were in deer heaven!

This was a little disturbing...

Mini Vacay

Remember I told you Chad was on vacation this week?
We decided to take a few days and drive up to Kansas City to play.  We went this time last year and had the best time!  It's a new city to us so there is a lot for us to do and explore.

This was Eli's first time to go swimming since last summer.  He loved it just as much as he did last summer.  I have to get him in swimming lessons very soon!

Trying out the new puddle jumper!

My sweet boys!

Look!  No swimmies!

He thought splashing was hilarious!

Of course we had to visit their zoo!  We went last year and Eli had a great time.
This year I think he loved it even more!

Feeding the deer.  He thought this was really fun!

They have a new polar bear exhibit that was under construction last year.  It was amazing!  When we were standing at the glass the trainer threw a fish for the polar bear and he dove in to grab the fish RIGHT in front of us!  It was so neat!  Eli loved it!  You can see a small part of the polar bear in the bottom left side of the picture.  That's how close he was!

I thought this was a cool picture.  See Eli's reflection in the window?

I swear this chimp was posing for me!  He looks kinda sad doesn't he?

Eli loved the monkeys too!

I thought this tiger was about to pounce at us!

Why, hello, hippo!

Eli enjoying the hippos

Didn't they tell them it's not nice to show their food?

It rained pretty much the entire time we were in KC except for the time we were at the zoo.  It was perfect timing!  We pretty much had the entire zoo to ourselves!

We were sad to come home but it's always nice to get back to your own house.  Except of course when you have a mess from your crazy dog that you have to clean.  Jigs was left outside (I know what you're thinking but we thought we had fixed everything so he couldn't tear anything up).  Well I guess he didn't like the rain this morning so he broke in the sun porch and DESTROYED it!  Patio cushions, shoes, flashlight, watering can, etc. were eaten and left in bits all over the place.  Not to mention the screen he tore down to get inside!  Lesson learned.  He doesn't like the rain!

Back to reality I guess!

Dad

I haven't updated on Dad in a while.  He's doing so much better but he's still in the hospital.  He's recently been moved to the spinal cord injury floor.  He's still having dialysis 3 days a week and phyiscal therapy everyday.  Hopefully he will be walking soon and finish his recovery at home!  I know he's ready!  We were able to go down and visit this past weekend.  We've been able to Skype a few times but it's much more fun to see him in person!  He's lost so much weight and shaved off his beard.

Eli was so happy to see his Papaw!

We took Dad outside to a little garden area at the hospital.  Eli enjoyed running around and playing!

Finally, a picture with him smiling at the camera!

It was so good to see Dad and we are hoping to make it down again soon!

Mother's Day Weekend

This post is kinda late but I didn't want to skip it.  I've had a very busy past couple of weeks but we're on vacation now!  Correction, Chad's on vacation and I just happen to be off 4 days in a row during this week!

About Mother's Day...

I had the best Mother's Day weekend EVER!!!  It started by shopping and a pedicure on Friday, ALONE (no kids)!  We cooked a steaks at home that evening.  Then Saturday we went to Branson to spend the night.  Of course we hit the outlet mall as soon as we got into town!

Eli loved riding the tractor with "Bob".

We went to Joe's Crab Shack at The Landing for dinner.  I love how they have a playground just outside so the kids can play while you wait!

Eli was not thrilled about taking a picture.
It's so hard to get pictures of him looking and smiling.
Most of our pictures now are action shots!
He's just not into taking pictures anymore.
But, he's just gonna have to get over it!

This is our attempt at a Mother/Son picture at dinner.
It's the best one we got.
Maybe next Mother's day?

On Sunday we went to Silver Dollar City.  It was hot, hot, hot!  I don't know how much longer we will be able to go this summer with the heat so we are enjoying it now.

We took turns riding with Eli on the rides.  He was really good considering we got there just before nap time.  He fell asleep in the car before we were out of the parking lot!

I hated for the weekend to end.
It was perfect in every way!
I love spending time with my boys!
