3/20/15 - 3/27/15

More framing this week!  We finally had a better idea of what the house would look like.  While house hunting we looked at quite a few of our builders previous homes but had never seen this particular floor plan in person.  So the whole house has been sort of a surprise to us!

3/11/15 - 3/17/15

Two weeks after we signed the sales contract on our new home they poured the foundation.  The next week after the foundation was poured the framing began.

We got so excited to drive by and see the framing going up!

New Beginnings

We decided to finally put our house up for sale after many years of talking about it.  We cleaned and decluttered everything we could think of until we thought it was "show ready".  We finally signed papers and it was listed!  Four days later we had our first showing.  We got an offer immediately after the showing and our house was sold.  Just like that!  We couldn't stop laughing because we were in such disbelief!  We listed our house with hopes we could sell it in 6 months.  We closed on March 24th and moved out of our home.  The first home we had bought.  The home we brought Eli to from the hospital.  The home where we had created so many memories of our little family of three.  It was a bittersweet day but we were so excited for the future!

Before we ever listed our house we would spend the weekends going to open houses and trying to decide what we liked and didn't like.  That and we had no clue WHERE we wanted to live!  By the time we sold our house we knew what we were looking for in our new home.  We had become pretty picky and decided the only way we would be happy was to build our new home.  We met with the realtor for the builder we decided on and looked at floor plans and available lots in the neighborhood we had decided on.  We picked our floor plan only to find out they had just laid the foundation for that floor plan in one of the available lots we liked!  It was meant to be!

Let the fun begin!

I will be blogging the progress of our house over the next few weeks or however long it takes to complete it.  We are currently 2-3 weeks from our house being completed!  We're so excited we can hardly stand it!  I decided to blog the progress of our house so we would have some sort of diary of it's progress.  I hope it doesn't bore you too much!  We have thoroughly enjoyed the building process!

My Little Cowboy

The kindergarteners put on a cowboy program at school one day.  Eli was so proud of his cowboy costume.

Eli gets so nervous when he's on stage performing.  I think it is so cute!

His part was around the campfire singing a song with the boys.

The teachers and some of the moms made these adorable horses out of pool noodles.  All of the kids entered the auditorium riding their horse.  Eli still plays with his horse at home!

I may be biased but I think Eli made the cutest cowboy I've ever seen!

Pumpkin Patch

Since Eli was sick and we couldn't go to Silver Dollar City, we decided to take him to the pumpkin patch.  I love looking back at previous year's pictures and seeing how much Eli has grown.  His face has definitely matured over the past couple of years.

Two years ago Eli wasn't even as tall at the pumpkin!  And look at him now!

McGarrah's Farm is my favorite pumpkin patch in this area.  Eli always likes it too because he gets to cut his own pumpkins off the vine.  They have great areas for photos too!

This wooden tractor and train was new.  Eli loved playing on it!

Fall Fun

October was much more exciting in our house!  We went to the Apple Festival and took one of Eli's best friends, Alexi.  They've been friends since Eli was 6 months old.  If you ask Eli who his girlfriend is, he will say Alexi!  HA!!

Eli's class went on their very first field trip.  Of course I couldn't miss it!

Eli loved feeding the goats!

This picture makes me itch just looking at it!

Eli had been begging to bake Halloween cookies.  I finally gave in and decided to do it.  In the middle of everything I realized Eli had fever.  The timing couldn't have been worse.  As a reward for good behavior, we were going to Silver Dollar City the next day.  Fever meant that trip was cancelled.  I felt so bad for Eli!  October and November were jam packed for us and that was the only chance we were going to have to go to SDC.

In keeping with tradition, Eli and I painted pumpkins one afternoon after school.

More birthday party fun with friends!

We also made it to a Razorback football game one Saturday.  It was so hot but we had a great time!

Eli asked me for paper one day.  He's been practicing writing and reading.  He wrote this sentence all by himself!  I couldn't have been more proud!  He's also reading on his own.  It is like it just clicked one day and he's taking off now!  I love seeing him learn new things and he gets so proud of himself.

More October fun to come...
