Quick Trip to Connecticut

Last Friday we flew to Connecticut for the weekend. Grant was turning five and wanted Eli to be there for his birthday party! Eli thinks Grant hangs the moon so he was very excited to be going to see him! I hope these boys stay close all their life. They are like brothers!

There was a terrible snow storm in New York when our plane was supposed to land. Our plane was diverted to Rochester so we could sit and wait out the storm. We finally made it to NYC a few hours later. When we finally found each other in baggage claim, the boys spotted each other from a distance. They both started giggling and running towards each other! They immediately hugged and fell to the ground! It was something you would see in a movie. I got a little choked up seeing how excited they were to see each other! I don't think Eli stopped grinning for hours!

They finally crashed 30 minutes before we made it to the house.

We went to dinner on Friday night at one of their favorite little pubs. Thank goodness it was a loud restaurant. We blended well!

On Saturday morning before Grant's birthday party he had soccer practice. His coach was nice enough to let Eli come out and join their practice. Eli had the best time doing all of their drills! It was a perfect chance for us to see how Eli would like soccer. His practice starts at the end of the month and then real games in April! We can't wait!

Next up.... Birthday party time! I loved Grant's T-Rex cake!

Remember how I mentioned a little snowstorm? Eli was so excited to get to sled and build a snowman! Eli had never been sledding! I think it's safe to say he loved it!

Chad built them a snowman. With no gloves. He couldn't feel his fingers afterwards!

Notice Grant at the top behind Eli? Lily had enough of the snow and went inside!

Snowball fight! I got hit with many of these :)

Playing with Grant's new birthday gifts
Sunday we laid around, ate breakfast, drank coffee and watched the kiddos play. Eli was very sad to leave. It made it a little better knowing we would see them again in 5 weeks in Destin!

Eli made sure he knew what to do in case of an emergency evacuation.

Bye bye, NYC!

Sunset above the clouds

5 weeks until the beach.

But who's counting???
