Old Friends

I've been meaning to do this blog post for a while now but I've been too lazy to upload my pictures from my other camera! I finally took the time tonight to upload them! The first weekend of March a couple of my friends from college and our kids got together. The last time we all got together was 2 years ago.

This was us two years ago.

This is us now!

I didn't realize this until after I started looking at the pictures after everyone left.  But look how our shirts coordinate with our child's shirt!  Too funny!

Our kids are wild now (well really only Eli, the others are normal) but nothing else has really changed!  We are always able to pick up right where we left off!  That's what I love about friends!

We kept trying to get the kids together for a picture.  We finally wised up, gave them some snacks and sat them in front of cartoons.  Worked like a charm!  Except they wouldn't all look for the camera and smile.  Oh well...  maybe next time!

My mom cooked a yummy lunch for everyone.  We sat around, ate and caught up on lost time.  It was good to see these girls!  I miss having them close to me!

I have to say, we have some CUTE kiddos!  This is them almost exactly two years ago.

And this is them now.... (of course Eli wouldn't allow me to take a picture of him).  But you all know what he looks like up close :)

Kathryn...she's such a happy little girl!  I'm sure she will learn lots of bad things from our boys!

I miss these girls so much, along with all of my other girls from college.  We need to plan a get together VERY soon!  So to all you girls reading this, what's the hold up!  Let's do it!

Until next time...

Gentry Wilderness Safari

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Gentry Wildnerness Safari.  We had a great time!  It was a nice distraction from all the craziness that had been going on in our life.

Here are a lot of pictures from our trip.  Eli wasn't afraid of the animals at all!  I was very proud of him.  I would think it would be a little scary if you were only 3 feet tall standing with all these animals!

I'm not sure what kind of animal this one is.... it looks like a cross between a deer and a horse. Hmmm.....

Eli loved the baby goats.  I did too!  They are the cutest!

Oink, oink!

watching the monkeys play

The zebras have to be one of the most beautiful animals!

Until they charge your car.
Seriously, I thought they were going to attack our car!  Actually they probably thought we were going to feed them.  I quickly rolled up the window and made Chad take off!  Scary!

I can't wait to go back!  I love zoos!

Happy Easter

Our Easter celebration started with an egg hunt and activities at our church Saturday morning.  It was Eli's first real Easter egg hunt.  We had a great time!

Posing with his friend, Tyler.

I couldn't believe he took the time to take a picture with Momma!

Eli wanted to sit by his "friends" (whom he doesn't know) and eat his cookie and drink his punch.

Cookie and punch, what could be better?

After the egg hunt we went to Branson to go to Silver Dollar City.  We looked at the radar before we left since we were forcasted for rain that day.  Yes, there was rain coming but we went anyway.  Of course we weren't able to go to SDC  but I was able to get Eli some shoes at the outlets!  Eli was pretty disappointed about not going to SDC.  Maybe soon, Eli!

This morning Eli woke up to an Easter egg trail from his room to his basket in the living room.  He thought that was pretty fun!  The Easter bunny brought lots of fun new outside toys.

Eli and Chad dyed Easter eggs while I cooked breakfast.

We went to church and met up with Eli's friends, Alexi and Tyler.  I thought this picture of Eli and Alexi was hilarious.  We were trying to get them to smile.  This is them saying "cheeeeeessssseeee!".

A silly picture followed by a cute one.  And I thought it was funny that I got Juli's phone in the corner trying to take a picture as well ;)

Eli, Tyler and Alexi.  Best buds!

This is the only picture we got today as a family.  Of course Eli woudn't look at the camera!

After church we went to eat lunch at On the Border.  Chad and I shared a margarita after the way Eli had acted all morning ;)

After lunch we came home, Eli took a nap and I went grocery shopping.  When Eli woke up from his nap we played outside with all his new outside toys!

Hopefully we will have a golfer on our hands!  He loved his new golf clubs!

Happy Easter, everyone!

A Boy's World

Last weekend we headed to FC for some R & R.  Eli is starting to love going to the farm.  But then again, what boy wouldn't like going... hunting, fishing, tractors, four-wheelers, open fields, no one in site for miles?  What's not to love!  I even like going to the farm!  Eli is mesmerized by tractors.  Last time we were at the farm Grandy took Eli for a ride on the "baby tractor" as Eli called it.  Grandy promised to take him on the big tractor next time he came to visit.  Don't think Eli forgot that promise!  Of course that was the first thing he wanted to do!

Eli was super excited!  I think he's probably been dreaming about it ever since we were there last time!

Once Eli was buckled in his seat he immediately says "close the door, Daddy"!!  He was ready to go on a ride and dig up dirt!

After the tractor ride he got to ride on the four-wheeler.  Another favorite thing of Eli's!

Eli watching Grandy bait his hook with a cricket.

Chad helped him cast the fishing pole in the perfect spot.  And then believe it or not, Eli caught his first fish on his very first cast!  We were all super excited!

Chad tried to get Eli to touch the fish.  Eli's response, "Ewww, yucky!".

Cutest little fisherman I've ever seen!

It didn't take long until Eli was bored with fishing and wanted to do nothing but throw sticks in the lake!

What a perfect ending to a perfect day!  Look at this beautiful sky!

Eli woke up the next morning and saw Grandy in the field on the tractor.  Grandy pulled over and let Eli jump in to ride one more time.  Eli was still in his pjs!

Now this is living the life... Eli thinks so anyway!
